Christmas Sunday Brunch
— Sunday, December 16
Christmas Sunday Brunch, 16.12.2018, 12-6 pm, at Spazio Nobile Gallery, as part of Season X – Land/Scapes, 23.11.2018 – 17.02.2019, Group exhibition with Carine Boxy, Kaspar Hamacher, François Moret, Bela Silva and Piet Stockmans.
Taking as metaphor “Landscape with The Fall of Icarus” (ca. 1560), the famous painting of the Flemish painter Pieter Brueghel the Elder preserved at the Royal Museums of Ancient Art in Brussels, Spazio Nobile transports us to an elsewhere, where the eye is lulled by the beauty of a landscape with accents both bucolic and dramatic. If the landscape is the source of a visual and meditative experience, the creations of these five artists, designers and photographer – Carine Boxy, Kaspar Hamacher, François Moret, Bela Silva and Piet Stockmans – each translate in their own way a quest for harmony and humanism. Everyone’s sources of inspiration are very subjective and, moreover, fascinating. Nature in the face of man is omnipresent with its strangeness, its fragments of sensory memory, its exacerbated beauty. You will see artistic and mythical horizons, magnifying fields populated by sheeps, American skyscrapers, glaciers, beaches, roads, forests that make us, so to speak, infinitely human, fragile and dreamy. The jump of Icarus is a myth but also a reality, perhaps an ideal?
