The von Bartha family is a true Basel institution. Without a doubt, they have carved out their own place in art history. Margareta von Bartha’s residence and former headquarters includes an expansive garage that has been reappropriated as a gallery. The space features equally eclectic domestic interior themes where different works of art and design come together to make curatorial statements. Each Neoclassical room unfolds into strategically juxtaposed stagings. In one space, a Rémy Zaugg ceiling mirror meets furniture and paintings, creating a rich dialogue. Leveraging von Bartha’s four decades of expertise in the concrete and graphic arts, the space hosts two exhibitions per year. In photographer Patricia Parinejad’s exclusive exposé, the vast differences between von Bartha’s rooms come alive.
