Maison & Objet announced its list of winners in the French version of this year’s Rising Talents Awards —the January edition is dedicated to international names, while the September one celebrates homegrown talent.

The 10 selected designers hail from the prestigious École Nationale Supérieure de Creation Industrielle (ENSCI – Les Ateliers). They are Claire Lavabre, a designer and photographer who focuses on interior and object projects; Alexandre Échasseriau, a metalworker-turned-industrial-designer who combines materials and technologies with little-known or emerging techniques; while Julien Phedyaeff and Christopher Santerre create pieces focusing on consumption habits and patterns.

Luce Couillet specialises in textile materials and products at Matières Ouvertes, her research workshop, while Lysandre Graebling works in the same are by exploring techniques like weaving, knitting, embroidery and screen-printing.

Samy Rio, a cabinetmaker and product designer, explores the interactions between know-how and industry, traditions and new techniques. Raphaël Pluvinage and Marion Pinaffo’s pieces exist in the intersection between popular folklore and today’s technological systems, while Jean-Baptiste Fastrez’s hybrid creations combine pioneering technologies and artisanal know-how.

Their projects will be on display this September in a dedicated stand at Maison&Objet Paris.
